Dear Coaches, Parents, and
Players:
Welcome to the 2010 Jackson Polar Bear Classic! To those who have participated
in the past – welcome back. To all newcomers – thank you for choosing to attend
this tournament, we believe you will have a great experience and want to come
back next year! Your teams are a part of our largest and most competitive field
yet. This year’s tournament field consists of teams from all over Northeast
Ohio, representing seven different counties. We are very excited about this
year’s tournament and are looking forward to a fun weekend of hoops!
This packet includes game schedules for each team and a master game schedule for
the entire weekend. Rules and directions are posted on our website,
www.jacksonbasketball.com . Games
will be played at six gyms (seven courts) located at three sites.
Jackson High School, located on Fulton Dr. just west of SR-241, houses 2
varsity-size gyms, and a third gym which is split into two nearly-full size
courts separated by a curtain. All gyms are accessible from the west side of the
building through door 16W. The high school will serve as tournament headquarters
with all official brackets posted there.
Jackson Memorial Middle School, located on Mudbrook Dr. just west of SR-241, is
equipped with two full size gyms. The Gold gym is located on the west side of
the building with entrances nearest the football stadium. The Purple gym is
located on the east side of the building. There will be a full concession stand
available at both gyms and tournament officials to greet you and guide you as
necessary.
Games will also be played at Strausser Elementary School, located on Strausser
St. just west of Arlington Rd., which includes a state-of-the art gym with wood
floor. All gyms are within a five-minute drive of each other.
We believe that our facilities are unparalleled in Northeast Ohio and will
create a great tournament atmosphere for your team!
A couple of requests. First, if your team is scheduled for the first game of the
day in a certain venue, please do not plan to arrive until 30 minutes prior to
game time. Second, please treat our facilities with respect. If you have
questions while you are at any of these facilities, please ask any of our
tournament staff or volunteers and they will be happy to assist you. Once again,
thank you for participating in this year’s tournament and good luck!
Very truly yours,
Justin Greenfelder
Boys Tournament Director
